Wounds resulting from surgery or trauma

Wounds resulting from surgery are acute skin lesions created in the operating environment, for diagnostic or therapeutic reasons. It has been estimated that infections resulting from post-surgical wounds affect 30-40 patients per 1000 operations and its effect can lead to a life threatening situation, especially for elderly patients [1].

Trauma injuries are also acute skin lesions which, however, derive from an accidental event that occurs in an uncontrolled environment. Precisely for this reason trauma injuries are easily contaminated by microorganisms that could lead to the development of infections.

Treatment with TMR® therapy drastically reduces the risk of developing infections in the treated area, thanks to its important anti-inflammatory and bacterial biofilm reduction action. It also decreases wound closure times thanks to an increase in cell proliferation responsible for tissue repair in the injured area.
