Wounds resulting from surgery are acute skin lesions created in a surgical environment for diagnostic or therapeutic reasons. It has been estimated that infection derived from post-surgical wounds affects 30-40 patients per every 1000 operations and its effect can end up being life threatening, especially for elderly patients [1].

Traumatic lesions are also acute cutaneous lesions which, however, are derived from an accidental event which occurs in an uncontrolled environment. Precisely for this reason, lesions from trauma are easily contaminated by microorganisms that could lead to the development of infections.

Treatment with TMR® dramatically reduces the risk of developing infections in the treated area, thanks to its important anti-inflammatory action and reduction of the bacterial biofilm. It also decreases the time for wound closure thanks to an increase of cell proliferation which repairs tissue in the area of the lesion.
